I draw inspiration from home-printed band T-shirts, the aggression of BMX and hockey, the “if we don’t do it, who will?” attitudes of the Gilman and Phoenix theaters, and the piracy of tattooing and zines.
If you boil out the politics and abuse problems of the punk world, you end up with one thing: DIY. I don’t need permission, and those loyal to the BC brand are people who don’t need the approval of others to do what they want. We are free, and with freedom comes the honorable responsibility of being community members.
We are the helpers. We are the friends you can call at 3am when you need someone. We are the ones who stand up when no one will. We don’t fear a fist fight, and we are quick to admit fault, be vulnerable, and walk with open hearts. We are the nicest people you will meet on a range, and we fight to remember your name for next time, because people matter to us. Your wins matter to us.
