After Work Range (AWR) is an evening block at JCSA in Grants Pass dedicated to structured training. When you arrive, targets, stands, and a full training plan will already be in place. Just bring your gear and ammunition.
This is not an event for beginners. You must be absolutely safe around firearms and capable of self-directed training. If that’s not you yet, reach out—we’ll get you into a formal class or a private session.
To attend, you must:
Know and follow the 4 universal firearms safety rules without exception.
Be in the proper mindset to train. You must arrive sober, in control of your emotions, and committed to acting with maturity and respect. This is not the place for venting, side conversations, or off-topic discussions. Leave politics, sports, and social noise at the gate. We are here to train.
Have prior experience. You should have taken a class, competed, or trained independently to a level where you can safely operate and manage your own gear without supervision.
This is not a class. Instructors and range officers will present a training plan and guide each segment, but you will be expected to execute the drills on your own target, as part of the group. This is not open range time. Free shooting is not allowed. Each training block is structured and coordinated.
After the primary training block, we’ll run individual timed drills. Scores will be tracked for friendly competition and focused refinement of the day's skills.
Gear Requirements:
Clean, lubed, zeroed AR (backups recommended)
Rifle sling
Clean, lubed, zeroed handgun (backups recommended)
Holster for each handgun (no holster = no range time)
2–6 rifle magazines
2–10 pistol magazines
300–500 rounds pistol ammo (bring more if you want more reps)
200 rounds rifle ammo (again, more = more training)
Ammo bag or box to keep mags topped up at the line
Eye protection
Ear protection
Hydration (water + electrolytes)
Hat
Sturdy shoes or boots (no sandals or soft footwear)
Sharpie
Ballpoint pen
Pocket-size notebook
Leave these at home—or be removed:
Bad attitudes, antisocial behavior, or poor character
Unsafe habits, to yourself or others
Alcohol or any mind-altering substances
Pets
Children
Free shooting—we train together, safely and with purpose
All sales are final.
